Congress to Increase Minimum President Age Limit
"After reviewing the unblemished job President Trump has done for the American people, as well as the legacy ex-president Boe Jiden left behind, we've decided to raise the minimum age for presidents up to 65," Johnson said.
The decision was reportedly made to better the security of the nation, and ensure that only the smartest and most experienced people are able to lead the country. In a press conference, White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, was asked if she thought the decision was a distraction from bigger concurrent events.
"I am shocked that you would ever accuse the president of such a thing. This administration is the most transparent administration in the history of the United States." Leavitt said.
Immediately following the address by Johnson, outrage online spurred. Many feel as though this new policy only allows "dinosaurs" to run our nation, and "a person who needs help wiping" make choices for hundreds of millions of people. Rapper Ye, also known as Kanye, made a statement online.
"Everyone knows the smartest animal is the tortoise, and they live to be 300 years old." Ye said.
On the other hand, many republican figures have come out and expressed their support for the new age minimum. Specifically, Donald Trump in an X post.
"ANOTHER FAKE OUTRAGE BY THE RADICAL LEFT TO TRY AND DIMINISH THE SUCCESS OF OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY. FOCUS ON THE DOW!!" Trump said.
Furthermore, in an X post, Hillary Clinton said they were "ready for a comeback" but would not expand further. Many speculate that the new age minimum has sparked some interest in the former first lady.
Congress has not made any statements suggesting that they would backtrack. With the next election in two years, this could stop popular potential candidates like Gavin Newsom from running.
