On March 2, the hit web series Bistro Huddy picked up four of its 86 nominations at the 97th Academy Awards. Created by Drew Talbert and Andrea Kelley, the series follows the staff and guests of a bustling restaurant as they navigate workplace chaos and personal drama. Starring waiters Brad, Nicole, Aaron, and Bridgette — each with varying levels of dedication to their job but united in their antagonism of head chef Joey — the series also features regulars like the flirtatious Cybill and Madge and classic redneck couple Tim and Pam.

Fans weren't surprised to see the dedicated workers behind the camera honored throughout the ceremony. Talbert took home two of the awards, shared one with Kelley, and bolstered a valued Bistro Huddy figure to an unexpected victory.

Actor in a Supporting Role: Drew Talbert
Talbert was shocked to win his first individual award for portraying dishwasher Harold, despite having two other nominations for his roles as Tim and Trick. In his speech, he recognized his experiences as a waiter and time spent in line behind "soccer moms in infinity scarves ordering pumpkin spice lattes" for helping him create and portray realistic characters.

"So many amazing actors have won this award, and I'm honored to count myself among them," Talbert said. "My biggest inspiration is easily Marcello Hernandez — he's such a versatile actor, and his performance as Domingo changed me so much that I've modeled my free-spirited lifestyle after his."

Actor in a Leading Role: Drew Talbert
Talbert's deeply demanding and emotional performance as Joey earned him the counterpart to his earlier award. He beat his own portrayal of Brad and even barred Timothée Chalamet from a nomination in a stunning upset.

"Drew Talbert gets five big booms," said influencers A.J. and Big Justice.

Best Entrée: Santa Fe Chicken
Viewers eagerly anticipated the new sub-category of Actor in a Supporting Role. Notable for having the least screen time of any actor in its category, the restaurant's most popular dish narrowly beat the martyred bread from Squid Game Season 2 to earn long-deserved recognition. In its acceptance speech, the Santa Fe Chicken made sure to thank the mahi-mahi, which unfortunately did not attend the ceremony, for its contributions to the restaurant.

Best Picture
At the end of the ceremony, Bistro Huddy beat blockbuster productions like The Brutalist, Wicked, and Beast Games for the biggest award of the night.

"In times like these, I like to remind myself of the most important things in life," Talbert said. "I recently saw a post on TikTok that talked about raising your ya-ya-ya, and it was one of the most inspirational things I've ever seen. I hope you all hold space with that message."

The staff of Bistro Huddy provide viewers with endless entertainment and doomscrolling material, and they certainly earned the recognition they received at the Oscars. It may not be a blockbuster movie, but Talbert's drama delivers even more worthwhile action than musicals about drug kingpins. As Tim would say, Roll Tide!
