With the renowned semi-annual New York Fashion Week (NYFW) occurring on March 20th, viewers worldwide witnessed a surprising turn of events that cemented Oxford Academy as a fashion capital.

Aiming for appearances beyond the club's International Fashion Show, OA junior and illustrious Fashion Club president Pathan Nerera and his executive board pulled off a historic guerilla-style takeover of NYFW. After managing to fly themselves to New York and fool security guards, OA Fashion Club pulled a "Jenny Humphrey" replacing the Valentino show set to take the stage that day with a runway showcasing Oxford Academy's most iconic looks.

Choosing to open with an introspective yet alluring piece, Addy LimaBean elevated the drab, mundane OA uniform into a reflective, pensive outfit. Dressed in a threadbare navy blue polo and a poorly fitting pair of khakis, [LimaBean made a bold statement about the stagnant life of the average Oxford student. Accompanied by deep gray eye-bags and a deteriorating black Jansport bag, she brings light to the repetitive cycle of waking up, going to school, completing homework, and hitting repeat every night.

Arguably the most iconic duo of the night, LiLi Gadid and Tella Gadid represented the underclassmen of OA by proudly repping their Physical Education (P.E.) uniforms. Emblazoned with "Oxford Academy" across their chests and Mr. Plifton's infamous handwriting scrawled underneath, these models brought a new meaning to the usually sweaty, itchy, and stinky P.E. uniforms. Complimenting each other, LiLi chose to represent those unfortunate students cursed with first-period P.E., while Tella was the ying to LiLi's yang, modeling themselves after the students who choose to wear their uniform for the rest of the day. Tella's flushed look was achieved with Common Beauty's highlighter and inspired by the students who are often seen sprinting through the Grindlay gate to join their class before being marked late.

Another featured look of the night was modeled by a group of students who acted as a microcosm for the entire OA population during the long-awaited spirit weeks. While certain models owned the runway with their unique outfits styled after duos like goth and pop, ugly sweaters, or fitness attire to prove that their wardrobes include more than white Essentials hoodies, they where ultimately overshadowed by the plethora of students donning the timeless plaid pajama pants. However, credit is given where credit is due as these models varied the look with cute hairdos, plushies, and colors other than the Kevin Nguyen red to bring out the pinks, oranges, and blues of spring.

Some of Damut's favorite staple pieces spotted at the show were Vivienne Westwood's pearl-dropped Saturn earrings, Adidas Sambas, and adorable Mary Jane platforms. Additionally, the inclusion of pink bows, Rory Gilmore-esque leg warmers, and oversized hoodies encapsulated the styles of OA's fashionistas.

OA Fashion's artistic prowess shone at this spring's NYFWt. Exemplified by their innate understanding of the student body down to the minute touches like every model rocking a pair of AirPods as they walked the runway elevated the event into becoming one of the best NYFWs of the decade, totally unbiased, of course!
